“I began working in this plant back in 1998 on the production floor, and in 2001 started taking college classes after my shift. Last year I graduated from Empire State College with a Bachelor in accounting and this year I was promoted to the Purchasing Department. Today I work in Purchasing with MRO, maintenance, repair and operations purchasing. This is great because, among other things, I get to buy all the parts for the machinery on the floor, most of which I operated with while I was working on the production floor. Changing positions, from the production floor to the Purchasing Department, has given me more responsibility, but I still get excellent support from my supervisors.”

Advancement opportunities for people that want to go further
“I’ve been working in this plant for about 25 years, which means that I have seen the company change, but also, the company has seen me change and grow professionally. I started out on the production floor doing various jobs, mainly welding and it was about 15 months ago that I got the opportunity to advance as a Manufacturing supervisor. Today I have the chance to give direction and share my knowledge with the new hires on the floor, and even though we are busy, time flies by because I enjoy the different work I do.”

“I have worked at TitanX for a year, first as an intern for six months and now as a Management Controller for the Finance Department. As an intern I got the opportunity to travel to all the plants and learn about the different processes, which prepared me for being part of the team working towards the establishment of a plant in Brazil.”
